THE WORKSHOP CAMERA
The workshop cameras are 5 inches by 7 inches by 4
inches deep. The pin hole is .020 inch in diameter giving an f/stop
of 200. They are made of corrugated cardboard. The pin hole is
made with a number 10 needle in a piece of aluminum soda can.
We used Ilford™ 5 x 7 Multigrade IV
RC paper for both negatives and prints. With Ilford™ developer
and rapid fix, the processing time is exceptionally fast (1 minute
to develop, 30 seconds to fix). There is no running water in the
darkroom and water is at a premium so we use a three bath wash,
2 minutes in each. The first bath is an Orbit Wash™ solution,
the second two washes are plain water.
